Registration

  1. Can I switch question types or switch testing days? For example, I registered for RN, but I really want PN; I registered for Friday, but I want to test on Saturday. Yes, simply login to http://nps.ecollege.com and you will be presented with the testing session(s) that you are scheduled to take, click the remove button to the right of the test that you no longer want to take. Click the yellow "sign up for new exam" button and register for the new test that you would like to take. Log out and log back in to confirm that you are nowregistered for the correct test.

  2. I cannot make the testing session. Can you cancel my registration? Yes, simply login to http://nps.ecollege.com and you will be presented with the testing sessions that you are schedule to take, click the remove button to the right of the test that you no longer want to take. Log out and log back in to confirm that you are no longer registered for the test.

  3. Due to expected bad weather, has the testing session been closed? There have been occasions when a test session was cancelled due to bad weather. Testing Operations will advise students by email and post a notice to http://nps.ecollege.com if a testing session will be closed.

  4. I can't find my test date, time, or loacation. What's wrong? There can be several reasons why a test date, time, or location is no longer available. If it is not appearing as a choice, it is no longer open. The session by be full, that date may be cancelled, or there is not enough demand. Please contact your instructor, program coordinator or the HelpDesk 1-866-791-1572 if you think there is an error.

  5. The Test choices are grayed out, why can't I register? There can be several reasons why a test type is grayed out. If it is grayed out, it is not being offered at that time. The session may be full, the date may be cancelled, or there is not enough demand. Please contact your instructor, program coordinator or the HelpDesk 1-866-791-1572 if you think there is an error.

  6. May I re-take a test? Example: I've already taken the RN Practice Exam, may I take it again? Yes, simply login to http://nps.ecollege.com and click the yellow "sign up for a new exam" button and register for the new test that you would like to take. Log out and log back in to confirm that you are now registered for the correct test.

  7. I did not print my registration confirmation page, what should I do? That's ok, just be sure to bring 2 forms of identification with you to the testing center.

  8. I have to cancel my registration, may I get a confirmation? Yes, simply login to http://nps.ecollege.com and you will be presented with the testing session(s) that you are scheduled to take, click the remove button to the right of the test that you no longer want to take. Log out and log back in to confirm that you are no longer registered for the test. You will not receive a separate email confirming your cancellation; however remain confident that if you do not see the test listed on the Schedule of Practice Exam page, you are not registered.

  9. I get an invalid username/password error when I try to login. What should I do? Call or email the HelpDesk, see contact information at the top right of this page. It’s likely that we have you registered under an alternative email address/password pair. The HelpDesk will have access to the email address we have on file for your account and if needed you can use the reset your password feature on http://nps.ecollege.com to then gain access.

  10. Can I register on-site and take the test the same day it is offered? Yes, if there are seats and computers; however, we will be unable to provide you with a score report.

Testing

  1. Can you tell me the anticipated time that we will be completed for the day? Each test item typically takes 1-1.5 minutes to complete. Depending on the test type, number of questions, your speed and the time the test begins you can expect an RN-End of Program test with 240 questions/items to take 4-6 hours; if you start at 9:30AM you can expect to be finished between 1-3PM.

  2. How do I find out about upcoming test dates and locations? Continue to check with your instructor, program director, and our website, nps.ecollege.com, to stay informed of our upcoming schedule.

  3. What do I need to bring to the testing center? Please bring to the testing center:
    • The confirmation Page when you registered
    • A pencil or pen
    • Any non-expired form of picture ID (Driver's License, School ID, etc.)
    • Earbud headphones, as you may encounter audio items on some tests
    • Earplugs (optional, but may eliminate noise distractions as you test)

  7. Is there a fee for the practice test? No, there is no fee. The practice tests are free to students.

  8. Are the writers for the test questsions the same writers for the NCLEX®? No, there are separate writers and the questions are validated by our team of psychometricians.

Scores

  1. When will I receive my score report? You can expect your score reprot to be posted on the third business day following the test administration. Your score report will be posted at http://nps.ecollege.com

  2. I have a score report but it doesn't have any data in it. What does this mean? It's likely that all of the questions were not completed or you may have had to cut a section short due to running out of time. If niether of these are ture, please reply back and we will excalate for futher troubleshooting.

  3. What does the score report data mean? Your score report lists your percentage correcty by category.
